As we want to do our part towards a healthier climate, one of our main focuses is to be a sustainable brand. From our jewelry to our packaging, we strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Becoming sustainable is not a one-day project, it is a process. So here’s what we’ve achieved so far.
Materials & packaging
This is how we respect the environment with the material of our items and packaging:
- We use as many natural materials as possible for our jewelry. For example, by using 100% natural, unprocessed stones. More information about the materials used can be found in the description of the products.
- We have reduced the amount of packaging that comes with your orders as much as possible. Our jewelry only comes with a (reusable) dust bag and a thank you card made from 100% recycled (FSC certified) paper. All other items only come with the cards and no unnecessary foil or plastic.
- Our mailing envelopes are made of paper and bubble wrap and include instructions on how to separate plastic and paper.
Our process
We pursue a zero-waste policy. We buy our materials in small quantities from our wholesalers and make the end product ourselves by hand. We are constantly replenishing our stock in small numbers, rather than doing it all at once. We do this to avoid having large stocks left over. In addition, we have chosen not to store our stock of jewelery in plastic but in the fabric bags in which they are also sent to customers. This way we prevent additional plastic waste.
Within the Netherlands, all our letterbox parcels are delivered by PostNL on foot or by bicycle. They deliver larger packages with electric vehicles or vehicles that run on green fuels.
Our goals
Of course we are far from perfect, there are still 100 things we can do better. Becoming a sustainable brand is a process – and a very important one. That is why we set new goals every year. Below are all our sustainability goals for the (near) future.
- We only want to use sustainable materials for the gold in our jewelry. Unfortunately, we have not yet found an option that fits our desired price-quality ratio.
- We want the small bags our jewelry comes in to be made from 100% sustainable materials.
- We aim to ship all our orders in envelopes made from 100% recycled and recyclable paper.
